What's Farscape like. It's a series I missed and it seems to have quite a big following. The DVD boxsets are still pretty dear so was wondering what you think before taking the plunge.

Cheers,

Nigel

Looks like it's going on my Christmas list then.

I tried to buy it when an online bookseller had the ultimate boxset at £100. But I deliberated too long and when I went to buy it was back up to £225.

Cheers,

Nigel

Have recently finished going through the fourth season - only ever watched a few episodes when they were on the bbc all those years ago !

Well worth watching - it's got some really great characters - especially Scorpius and the clone in Crichtons head (Harvey) :D

It is a bit of a love it or hate it series, I liked it personally as I thought it was different to your usual sci fi series at the time.

I personally felt there was some really good interaction between the main characters (john and ka d'argo especially) and the puppets where really well animated etc.

I do agree that it kind of got a bit silly near the end though with the peacekeeper wars series (the last one after it got cancelled early) being pretty good again

I fancy that white alien bird
- white alien bird - you on about chiana (pale blue white hair) or aeryn sun (black hair peacekeeper). Personally I like sikozu.

Fantastic series, and yes, I cried when John and Aeryn.... oops, no spoilers ;).

In fact, this thread has just spurred me to acquire the entire collection by whatever means necessary! :D

I never liked it

I just couldn't get into it like I did with most other sci-fi shows, there was something about it I just didn't like.

I enjoyed it. Made a change with them using puppets for some of the aliens. Not like most TV SCI-FI where a new alien is just a bloke with make-up on and a pasty on his head.

The best episode has to be the Loony Toons one!

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to pay our final respects and to say farewell to our dear friend, Commander John Crichton, a schmuck. Mule-headed, reckless, and probably brain-dead before I met him.
