kool, i hear the 6800 ultra's eat power supplies for breakfast, will a 400w supply be sufficient?

Not for 2 in SLI I wouldn't have thought, and as said a 7800GTX would make more sense than 2 6800Ultras.

6800GS (OCuk) is £140, if you were able to get the ultra they would probably be £200+ new. As said get a 7800GTX, even a 7800GT when clocked wouldnt be far off SLi and also wouldnt require a new PSU

hmm interesting, the thing is i can pick a brand new 6800 ultra up for £150 pci-e, now would this be a better value for money than spending a extra £150 on a 7800 gtx? also will a 400w psu run 1 6800 ultra ok?

atmittedly its a bit more than your price for a 6800 Ultra, but I would spend £60 or so more and go for 7800GT, rather than spend £300+ and go for gtx

I would also shy away from going prvious gen at this stage, it seems sily to me to invest a reasonable amount of money on old tech

A decent quality 400w psu will run any single card ( maybe barring the 512mb cards) however if you let us know what kind of psu you have, I am sure some kind person will let you know if its capable of doing any new card justice

It depends on what 400w PSU you're using, if it's a quality one then it will run a 6800ultra ok, Nvidia states a minimum 400w to run it iirc.

The Leadtek 7800GT is £189 at the moment INCLUSIVE of VAT from OCUK

Well worth the extra over the 6800 Ultra
