Fast Sata III

The WD Black is very expensive compared to other HDD's.

A mechanical HDD cant even saturate a SATAII port, so the SATAIII connection they have is a bit wasted (marketing talk/gimmick etc)

You will find that HDD's seem to have stagnated lately and seem to be at a peak with no real performance benefits over other HDD's.

With that said, I would recommend one of the other 1TB HDD's on sale and pocket the difference.

VelociRaptor 1TB fastest and costs a bomb but flies like a rocket for a hdd, no where near a revo mind you, but thats a combo ram and sdd drive anyway and in a different class of it's own, faster than any sdd still to date even in raid :)
next is the Toshiba, on paper the second fastest, with WD black next.

then Barracuda, WD red, blue, green last etc

not posted these as there are Enterprise drives 64MB 7200RPM Warranty: 5 Years and cost more than any drive above apart from revo's or raptors etc
