Good Morning!

I'm in need of a bit of advice here, Im after filling a small 2"x 2" cube for something. Needing it to be filled solid with some sort of resin or something that will set reasonable hard, Rubber like or even just pure hard! Fast setting is required really. Any ideas guys?

Thanks

Air bubbles not a concern at all. Just anything that's fast setting and hard and doesn't foam over. My main concern is it setting at the bottom? Is it likely to set the same throughout? Roughly how fast is fast?

Cheers

So,... i can't help in the slightest... i'm just curious about the obsession with super quick setting...

Care to elaborate what you're actually doing?

Epoxy is fairly fast setting, it's done using a chemical reaction so it will set throughout assuming you mix the two parts properly.

Alternatively you could use a hot glue gun. The setting time is whatever it takes for the glue to cool down, 30 minutes i'd guess for the heat to dissipate from the middle of the cube?

You can get plastic pellets to melt and pour in which will cool down to set too

Doesn't epoxy get hot when it cures? I know when I used to glue up window frames with 2 part resin, the residue left in the mixing pot got very hot - is it possible that having a 2" cube of the stuff might get so hot it could ignite? I could be talking cods though - just a thought.

Hot glue gun!! Fantastic! that was kind of the substance material I was thinking of but just couldnt think for the love of money. Thanks!

Ill post the result so you can see what I'm doing :)

That sort of thing is better if you get a potting compound. This is what is used to hraden in electronics into cases to either insulate or to stop tampering.

Fibreglass resin with lots of hardener will be solid in a few minutes. 2" x 2" will need a fair bit tho

Itll be rock solid
