Hi guys,

My trusty old 4gb scandisk stick has given up on me and I'm in the market for a new one... I'm thinking 32gb (nice bit of future proofing ;)) but I'm not sure what I'm looking at - is there a best all-rounder or anything atm?

I'm after speed and reliability, anything else is a bonus

I just got a corsair flash voyager 16gb usb 3.0 and the speeds are pretty nice.
30mb/s read, 20mb/s write usb 2.0 and 70mb/s read and i think around 50mb/s write.

Again a +1 for the corsair flash voyager GT.

I've got a 16GB one and speeds and very impressive when used in a usb 3.0 socket

Right, I got a 32gb Transcend 700 in the end and only after much deliberation :)

First impressions were good, I used it straight away to move a single 10gb macrium backup file from one machine to the other - not sure of the actual time it took because I went to make a cup of tea, it had finished by the time I had got back... that was file but I'm, just copying 5.9gb of drivers to the stick and although windows started off showing it as 30mb it soon stabilised a about 6mb! I'm only using the stick on a usb 2.0 (windows did say 'this device might perform faster etc. in usb 3.0' when I plugged it in) port but I was expecting things to move a bit quicker than that?!

I'm sure reviews mention that this new generation work better with big, single files as opposed to small, bitty ones

That's what I'm putting it down to atm!

u can get them so cheap now adays but the cheap ones are usualy slower... seen 16gig sandish for a fiver....

but always check read/write speeds :) thats the catch
