Fastest 1TB Drive?

I think the Samsung Spinpoint's pretty fast, especially for the price, but depending on how much you're willing to pay there will be fast options I'm sure.

You could always shove another 500gb in a RAID too I guess.

I would steer clear of seagate at the moment, i've had problems with my 500gb, and the after sale service hasn't been great.

I replaced it with a Samsung F1, and it benches about 94mb/s average, so for the money pretty darn good.

The new E7K1000 (not the old non-E version that's currently being sold cheap to make way) from Hitachi looks promising even with AAM enabled...

Samsung F1 / WD Blue

They're both awesome in 640 and 1000

the WD RE3 and Black are faster, but come at a premium

I was thinking of getting one of those 1tb Hitachi's as they seem cheap but the F1's look fantastic for a few quid more.
Thanks for the info. Might get one when the price is right t compement my 500gb F1 :)
