Behind you... Naked!
As the title.

Im wanting a 500GB or higher for my Gaming Lappy.

Whats the fastest there is?

Im currently using a 60GB SSD for C: and a 500GB WD Blue for D: and quite frankly, when comparing the loading times of games from my main PC to this, its shocking just how slow the Laptop is.

What are those Hybrid drives like?

500GB is fine, but 1TB sounds sweet as you like... If I cant justify the price of course!

Consider using something like steam mover to put your current game on your SSD, at 60Gb your only going to get one on there though.

The hybrid drives just store the most accessed files so tend to work well for OS boot times but not so good for everything else.

Ok thanks guys.

Just to clarify.

I use SSDs on ALL my PCs for C: ( or for root on the Linux ones ) and then standard HDs for Data.

On both my HP Laptops, I have swapped out the DVDRW and instead, I am using the original HDs in there, and an SSD to boot with.

So, all my PCs including my Laptops boot of extremely quickly etc etc etc

The thing is, that with my i7 Laptop, I have thrown a load of games onto it, and it takes what feels like hundreds of years for it to do any actual loading up of the games.

So, as Gay_881 says, the Hybrids are only good for the most accessed files, I probably wont get THAT much benefit perhaps?

I will almost definitely get some benefit though and I am unsure as to the actual speed of the HD in this one ( 500GB WD Blue ) but its certainly really poor.

True SSDs. Sure, its an option, but at this moment in time, I cannot truly justify the price... I want sure, but I also need at leat 500GB, probably considering 1TB for plenty of extra space, so right now SSD are not on the table, hence the Hybrid option.

Anyway, thanks guys... I will have to do some more homework before I make a decision.
