What's the fastest 3tb drive you can buy. I need a fast drive for all my music and foobar2000. 3TB Seagate ST3000DM001 Barracuda SATA 6Gb/s 7200rpm 64MB Cache 8ms NCQ OEM Hard Drive?

I have just recently bought one of those 3TB Seagate ST3000DM001 Hard Drives
for use as a storage drive and I have had no problems with it so far.

I have it in a eSATA External Hard Drive caddy and it is preity fast and quiet.

If you do buy one of them, it is recommended to do a firmware upgrade
on the drive to firmware version CC4H before putting any data on it.

What happened to WD Black?

Guess the fastest is the Seagate one-platter series, I just bought the 1 TB version,
keeps cold, and is very silent, and very fast, don't know if the 3 TB is exact equal

What's happening with Western Digital? They seem to have slipped behind without a 1tb platter black.

I've just seen WD have released the 4tb black. I think they are 800MB platters.
