Hi guys i need a little advice on the fastest desktop hds(not raptors)
i primaly use my pc for gaming also watch films on my comp, also i do a lot of ftpin, i download a lot of linux distros for people, and then mail them, charging jsut for p&p, anyhow i want realy fast drives, i will be bying two of them to run in raid 0, i know i would have to pick sata 2 with at least a 16mb cache, jsut wanted ideas on drive makes and models, since i havent bought one in a long time.
many thanks

EDIT: sorry i forgot to add the size i would like, around the 300gb size, ie 320gb ect

Are these any good ?
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB ST3320620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM
Hitachi Deskstar T7K500 NCQ 320GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (0A33435)

i think its going to be a pair of iether the hitache or the seagate

You don't as such need Sata-II IMO, but anyway, it obviously doesn't hurt. My vote goes for the Seagate, but both are good drives. The Seagate has the edge though, due to it's perpendicular recording and 5yr warranty.

thank you i was thinking that too, from what i have read in reviews ect, the seagate is definatley faster, in fact its on par wiht rapters, ie not much in them, bar of course the new one, if only i could afford them i would be bying them, lol anyhow thx for the reply
