Fastest GPU ?

Not a fan of dual GPU setups myself. Go for the fastest single GPU you can afford.

Personally i'd wait for proper benches and prices for the new AMD cards and then make a decision. I suspect they will perform and cost similar to the GTX780 though.
 
I'd rather get a pair of matrix platinum 7970s £250 on today, out of the box they are clocked to decent levels, perform better than the 7990. You get more games too.

Resale value would be better just incase you decide to change in the near future, it's easier to sell 2 £200 priced cards than 1 £400

... the sensible thing is to wait for the 2x0 seires and then decide, do you want to plummet £500 on gpus' now when next month they may be 'old tech' - you could have had more powerful new cards for the same money...
