Fastest Hard Drives for RAID 0 setup

What are the fastest SATA hard drives I can get for a RAID 0 setup using 2 drives, I'll need 1TB or higher overall.

500GB Samsung Spinpoint F1 Raid edition or the WD 500GB RE3.

I have 2 x 640GB WD drives in RAID 0 - nice drives, fast and quiet.

Not sure about the samsung's but i think the WD 500gb are single platter. So 2 of those would be your best bet.

Someone else said to me that the 640GB are good drives and the WDs are on this week only too so tempting.

Is it the 7200.12 barracudas that are single platter?

Think that would be your best bet. However there were quite a few problems with the 7200.11 so would do some research first. The 320gb platter F1's are quick too though!

yup by the looks of the reviews on the product page looks like no-one has had the problems they had with the .11's. Sounds like thats the winner!

I have 2 of the Hitachi 7k1000.B 750GB drives in RAID 0 and get very good performance.
