FASTEST i7 BUNDLE TO DATE REDUCED IN PRICE

Would you have any idea of the rough price difference for a UD7 guessing it will be quite a lot more? I am looking at buying this rampage bundle and the following components:
-Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
-Corsair TX 950W ATX SLI Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-950TXUK)
-LG GH22LS50 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter Lightscribe Drive - OEM
-Antec 902 Nine Hundred Two Ultimate Gaming Case - Black

Will the 950W be able to handle 2 of the 5870 ATI in the future when i get crossfire?
Also Are there any choke points in this system? The hard drive is the issue i am wondering about as i chose a Velociraptor 150gb originally but have been told it is fairly loud. Dunno what other suggestions you would have at a reasonable price. I think SSD will be to expensive at the moment...

Operating system will be windows 7 64 bit but dunno whether it is necessary to get ultimate or not?

Just wondering also if i order the bundle are they all running well at 4.2 at the moment? I notice you have changed the ram to Corsair any reason?

Power supply should be fine, with experience you might have a few issues fitting the 5870 in if you have a few hard drives for the best cable tidying.

I would recommend a corsair 1000W PSU for 5870 crossfire especially if your going to run a 4.2Ghz bundle mate.

The reason for switching to the Corsair memory is simply because we no longer have the Patriot memory available at such a good price and while the Corsair memory has pushed the bundle price up somewhat it is very good memory and fully tried and tested at 4.2GHz. The corsair memory is also the memory we used in bundles before switches to the patriot for pricing advantages.

Unfortunately because we are now using the corsair memory we are unable to keep the low price of £719.99 as memory pricing is rocketing at the moment, it really was a get it while you can offer.

The velociraptor is a good drive, but aged some what now, my advice is if you spending £750ish on a bundle and then a further £500 on graphics card you get your self a SSD otherwise the HDD will be the bottleneck in your system

Problem is i am looking to spend 1500 or less and buying the 1000W and SSD will take it quite a lot further over that! The 5870 is only 319 pounds. Maybe you were thinking of the 5970 or just roughly quoting? Dunno if that will make a difference about the power usage? If i didnt get a SSD would it be a noticeable difference? or if i got a 64gb one for example should i just run the operating system from it and then have the games etc saved on another drive? Would this create a choke point?

Hi Dane,

I dont think it would create a choke point as I was advised by the technicians. the SSD would primarily be used for your main applications - Office, W7, Itunes etc etc. In my current system (being built) i've got a 750W sitting in there. Probably going to up it to a 1000W as I'm going to overclock my 5970 and probably get a second one in the future.

Just future proofing myself I guess. Sometimes (As I've learnt) it really is best you spend that extra £100-£200 to get a couple of parts that you know will last you a really long time.. :)

Just my thoughts

Sam
