Basically looking to buy an IDE drive for a computer my OH uses, but it doesn't have any SATA parts.

It will need to be at least 120gb - probably looking in the 250gb region, and partition it so 200gb is used for storage (MP3s, My Docs, etc).

I'm not hot on Samsung; haven't used Seagate for a while; Hitachi's are usually nippy, but I'm wondering if they're starting to lose their lead or not; WD are usually rock stable, and decent speeds too - usually the same as Hitachi drives.

Suggestions here please!

There's not much doing in the IDE arena these days, no 7200.11s, no single platter 7200.10s etc. The WD AAKB drives are probably going to be the best option.

Feared as much. :(

I might just buy a SATA drive for the OH, when they get my existing rig - saves buying a SATA card.
