My case - the Corsair Q400 - has a maximum CPU clearance of 170mm and the Noctua is 165mm. If the second fan is fitted to the Noctua, the RAM clearance is reduced to 32mm, but this can be increased by moving the fan up slightly (it's attached to the heatsink by clips that can latch on anywhere).
If I move the second fan up 5mm to bring the overall cooler height to the maximum of 170mm, that should leave me with 37mm to play with. What's the fastest RAM for less than £200 that I could squeeze in? The Corsair low profile stuff is only 32mm but seems a big sluggish on the latency.
