Fastest "plain" Sata?

Wondering what is currently considered the fastest Sata drive under £50?

Western Black?
Sammy Spinpoint?

Use wise - windows/gaming.

Not sure what you mean by 'plain' sata but sata 1 & 2 are backwards compatible with one another. I'd pick the Samsung spinpoint F3

I would take the F3 over the WD Black due to 500GB platter size...

i believe the F3 is quicker. However i have the caviar black and it's quick enough and quiet too, unlike my old 7200.10 the noisy bugger. Plus an extra 2 years warranty on the caviar blacks and that's what matters to me.

Velociraptor is a 'plain' Sata HDD, the only way in which it is not plain is in the sense that it is the fastest.

Surely by this policy, whichever HDD 'wins' this poll should from now on also considered non-plain and be exempt from future polls.
