It shall be monday morning and i need to get from Uxbridge tube station to Clapham Junction by 07.23.

I have tried www.tfl.gov.uk but i want a few other options as well. They don't obviously include taxis so perhaps i could get a taxi or a bus to a main station that is closer to Clapham Junction?

Fairly straightforward - direct Picc to Earl's Court, District to West Brompton, then the Overground.

First Picc from Uxbridge is at 05:17 which is a tad early - there's not another through until 06:32, so it's probably best to take a Met and change at Rayners.

There is an alternative that journeyplanner never shows - Met through to Northwick Park, walk round the corner to Kenton, Bakerloo or Overground to Willesden Junction then the other Overground branch to Clapham.

It's not a pleasant journey - I hate too many changes, but there you go.

I found the quickest route was to go to Victoria and then go to Clapham, bizaare...ignore this and so on.
I would go with this route also (U1 from Uxbridge to West Ruislip, Central line to Notting Hill Gate, Circle line to Victoria, Southern Trains to Clapham Junction).

I've done the Uxbridge U1 route to West Ruislip at some ridiculous time in the morning (4-5am?) the New Year's Day just gone, and can say if you get there on time the bus comes bang on the dot and is a quick journey to the station. Then from there it's pretty damn quick into central London, should be a breeze from there on.

The Piccadilly/Metropolitan route is long (my daily commute) and especially at that time in the morning, Central line would be a lot quicker.

Out of curiosity, do you live in Uxbridge? It's just that I go to university/work there.

I wrote that route down as well! :)

I don't live there - I used to live in Northwood Hills if you know it? I am going to a party tomorrow in Hillingdon or however it's spelt and we're staying for £29 between the two of us in the Travelodge! :o
...she has work at 10am in Portsmouth so a train from Clapham at 07.23, sigh.

Are you staying in that new Travelodge outside Uxbridge station? The one where the rooms are made of metal freight containers (which is why they're so cheap :p)?

If you book ahead, it is much cheaper hence the price...um..it's very close to Uxbridge station, so is that the one?

Heh, born and bred in Northwood Hills, me :D

Good grief...i went to Haydon and Harlyn.

I went to Haydon, back when it was St Nicholas Grammar. Turned into Haydon Comprehensive when I was in the third year. My son starts there in a couple of weeks. Small world :)

 Small world indeed... :)

The butchers in the high street in Northwood Hills used to be my next door neighbours. Robin Paterson i think his name is.
