Fastest you've been on a public road.

I can see this thread getting some big-time flamage, but a couple of years ago I managed 135mph (indicated) in my mum's 1.8 Zetec Focus at around 4am on the M3.
I haven't taken the MR2 above 90mph, purely because I don't want to risk my license. No car = a longgggg walk to work (no public tansport)

I'm all for safe driving, but you have to understand, IT WAS A HIRE CAR.

That was a couple of years ago and I've been a good boy since. That said nearly every thread on this forum is about mods and sports cars so you can't exactly convince me that those people have never gone above 70 mph can you

Probably not, but they'll try and state otherwise. I'm quite happy to admit that I break the speed limit when it safe to do so. I'm still breaking the law. Not this week though as fuel restricitions have meant that I need to be economical.
I will refrain from posting my fastest speed though.

It's not the fastest I've been but I was impressed when I was able to take the Cinq off the clock. 120+ indicated although obviously it wasn't actually going anywhere near that fast. Probably wasn't much more than 100 in reality.
