Fastest you've been on a public road.

so fast that I now know I was a moron for doing so.
there's no skill involved, you just hold on.
now I know if something unforeseeable had happened like a component failure or a tyre letting go I'd have been killed.

for reference, I'm in the same ballpark as will gill...and less than proud of it if I'm honest.

Personally? I have never been above 70mph on a motorway, 60mph on a NSL road or above 30mph on a surburban road with lamp posts.

:)

my current car doesnt do top speed runs so im more than happy to hardly ever exceed 100, I've got over the whole 150+ addiction, it wasnt big, clever or remotely safe. Buy a p1 safe in the knowledge if you persue the 150's your car will more than likely go pop :)

Topped out my car on the m6 coming back from Preston one night. 140mph+ indicated. Seemed alright, nothing special, quite boring infact :p (Could be because I regulary do 120mph(ish) at night coming home on empty motorways :o (yes I kill children for fun)).

Done around 90-95 in My 1.0 C1. I don't make a habbit of it it's just when the dual carriage way is empty and there's nothing infront.

Doing a lot of motorway drving I just tend to keep up with traffic. Usually means floating at around 70.

180 indicated in my mates rx7

120 in my golf.

Indicated 145mph in my 528i,

Indicated 155mph in a 2004 M3, did the same in a 4.2 XKR.

I don't believe you.

I think my highest speed is around 120-125 indicated, on motorways and dual carriageways - nothing special. I haven't driven that fast since I got a speeding ticket in 1998 - in fact I haven't gone much over 90 indicated since then.

Similar to WG and TDS. Riding shotgun on an "Urgent Customer Delivery" from Duns to Whitby, keeping an eye on scanners and radio chatter.

Very, very stupid and, if caught, I'd still be inside.
