Is the fat average a day for men 90g or 60g? I know the calories is 2500

How can the average person eat 90g of fat a day. so fat my lunch was 10 at the most, does this mean to be healthy i have to eat 80g for my dinner?

i dont think to be healthy you have to eat anoter 80 grams of fat... it might well be that the average person eats 90 or 60 or whatever it is, but if you eat less then its probably better for you? isnt it ?!

it is 90g of fat on average, but this can vary greatly, you shouldn't be aiming for this, you should be aiming for 70g

^aiming for 70g? What if I only eat 10g a day then, will i loose weight?

Is the american average more like 150 or 200grams?

Go see a Nutritionist and get them to design a Diet around your Body for your needs and what you want your body to be like :)

Its the best way to do it

The body needs a certain amount of fat anyway, cutting out fat too much ain't going to help with loosing fat (long-term weightloss, keeping healthy etc etc ), should get intake from 'good' fats...

or something.... :)

mine is 2010 calories a day max, to break even. if im cutting it needs to be about 1800 max. Don't take those "averages" as gospel, they are quite dated iirc and not a true reflection of what an individual should eat per day.

Just eat stuff.

I never think about these things.

I go to the gym, run, and drink a lot of water. Oh and take multi-vitamins. And I'm fine.

I went down to Cambridge a few years ago and had a special test done which cost me £90. After the tests came back they said my metabolism rate was between 1250 and 1300 calories a day. The average male should be able to sleep 2200 calories off a day. Anothe rmate of mine who can't put weight on had a metabolism rate of around 4000.

hugely o/t but it made me laugh. The other day i was out and about and heard this guy shout to a'large build' chap "excuse me mate, you've got something on your chin!"
The guy rubbedhis chin and feeling nothing there shouted back "what's on my chin?"
The first chap replied "another one!!

Genuinely made me giggle :)

No idea what my metabolism is but I'm the same, can't put any weight on :(

I never look at what I'm eating to think ooh maybe I shouldn't, in the mouth it goes and that's that. But then my diet probably isn't the most healthy in the first place, so maybe if I ate more "proper" things I'd put weight on?

I'm definitely using that one on stage next week when I do my regular abuse of the bass player and I know he will fall for it.
