Faulty BFG Graphix Card - BFG in Liquidation

I bought a BFG GeForce GTX 280 OC 1024MB graphics card from OcUK in December 2008 and its now gone faulty. The card has a lifetime warranty on it from BFG, so I've tried to get in touch with this only to find they have gone into liquidation. Has anyone else picked up the Warranty of the products or will OcUK honor the warranty direct?

Or does any know of another company that has bought BFG that will honor the warranty or am I just screwed!
 
Just found the below on anothe thread which may possibly have been your earlier response. Oh well £350 down the drain!!!!

"You're completely out of luck I'm afraid. My BFG 8800GTS died last year, and unfortunately it was just around the time that BFG were winding down their business... hence they were no longer accepting any RMAs, and that lifetime warranty of theirs became completely worthless. I ended up selling the card as faulty/spares or repairs for about £20 on a certain auction site."

You say that but I've had 3 BFG cards over the years, a 6800GT, 8800GTX and now the 280GTX OC. Out of that lot the 6800GT and the 280GTX have failed. Only my 8800 is going strong. 66% failure rate is not good in my book. Looks like I'm going to have to upgrade and find another few quid.

So what does baking it do to the card? Does it fix issues or something? The only time I've heard anyone mention they are "Baking it" is when I've watched Jim Royale on the Royale Family :D

BTW, looking at replacement cards, there are some now with 3Gb DDR5 mem, what the hell is going to use all that? Is this just not marketing hype?
 
Guys, I "Baked" my BFG 280GTX OC last night and after it was thorough cooled and assembled I put it back in my system and it fired up OK. I then ran 3DMark 1 time and it passed OK, I then ran COD MW2 on max res (1680x1240) for 20 minutes and it never crashed at all. I'm going to run it in over the weekend and see if its really done the trick but so far so good :)
