Quick question, I have a fiio E5 and have done since april time. I got it from a well know auction site and was given a link by an OCUK member for a 'good source'.

Now the e5 has two sound positions for the button, towards outer case and one more towards the volume control. Apparently the volume control position is more 'flat' and the the outer case position is more 'vibrant'.

Now i have never really played with the sound 'tone' button too much but last night I made sure the button was fully to the outer case position as i prefer a warmer, vibrant sound, and wanted to double check.

I clicked it 1st to the flat side then to the vibrant side. There was no difference in sound... I started playing with the E5 button moving it back and forth on a constant song playing in the background. I found that if I pushed the button slowly across and pushed it down slightly it changed the whole dynamics of the sound to really vibrant. It wont seem to stay there properly and keeps flickering between the two modes.

Does any one elses do this? Or have i got a 'duff' one? In the pic below its the button far left. that position is effectively bass boost (case side) mine doesnt sit like that... it sits about 1mm back and slightly wonky.

Mine stays fairly convincingly where I set it.

The vibrant sound you refer to is a bass boost.

Sounds like its faulty to me. Mine stays quite firmly and requires some effort to move. Also, I got it from amazon (silver one) because I didnt trust any of the ones on ebay (many fakes).

Mine was from a recommended seller on Ebay and my button is really really stiff and hard to move.

Also as said, it's a bass boost button but I leave it off as it sounds better on my headphones without.
