After about 5-10 mins of being on, my pc cuts out and then resets to this screen..

I have been having problems since day one having a loud PSU fan etc.. Only had the PSU since December.. Akasa don't despond to anything I send them either.

Is it time to throw this PSU in the bin?

Do you have the chance to test another PSU in your system?

If you have a multimeter to hand try to manually check the voltages.

I was going to look at a Corsair, but most of the review I read are people saying that they are on the 4th one etc... -.-

Why do peeps only post the bad news? Maybe cos their too busy enjoying their new goodies. They won't review if there's nothing wrong. Only your dedicated users will write an honest opinion (not biased by anger) on ANY piece of hardware.

I'm a big corsair fan, 7xHX850W, 13x H80i (one dodgy fan), 7xH100i and several sets of XMS3 have never let me down, and I build a few.

that will be because the hx is faily decent, but not the best!
op what size psu do you need? list your spec and we will give you some options on QUALITY units :)

My PSU fan was running full blast when opening 3D applications (even though the cpu and gpu where only under like 10% load). I have been trying to contact Akasa since and they don't respond to anything you send them. So I was going to swap the fan out for a silent fan. While taking the last screw out, I realised it was a 135mm fan, so couldn't do anything about it, so basically the warranty is void anyway.

I am happy with the hardware I have, I won't ever do multiple GPU's, so 650W max is all I need. I can get away with a 550W easily.

You'll probably be surprised to hear 400w is enough :p As long as its a good quality one of course.

The Be Quiet e9 400w is a great choice for your system but ocuk don't stock it. The fan in it barely changes speed throughout any load and its always very very quiet. It's maximum possible speed is a pathetic 800rpm :)

any of these will be fine

I'm still unsure about changing my case also... I was thinking about getting a Corsair Carbide 540 so a none modular would be ok... The only thing is, I don't think the motherboard I have looks that great to look at, plus the CPU cooler is huge and hides most of the things lol
