Hi

I bought my p360 high performance kit in nov 2018 and it is still under warrenty. The pump is now faulty and I have been told that I need a new pump by ekwb support. I have phoned OCUK and asked to have the pump replaced but they are telling my I need to send the whole kit back. Surely this is not necessary.

How am i supposed to send the whole kit back it installed in my system. Any help on this, all i need is the pump replacing!

yeah that seems a bit strange .. won't ek swap it out ? or get them to give ocuk a email ?
i'd give support another chance just explain to them you don't want to rip your system apart for a pump ..

overclockers are asking for the product they sent you, which unfortunately means the whole kit, if you bought the pump separately to the kit there would be no issues but because the pump is part of the kit it doesn't work that way.

the kit you have, does it have a lang d5?, i only ask as i have a spare unit my end if you wanted something quick, pm me if you like to discuss

its a D5 PWM9-38/000-01

I have explained. The kit has changed beyond all recognition in the 18 months that I have had it, I have added radiators changed the tubing etc etc, the only thing that is as bought is the pump/res combo. i have bought a new pump which should be here this week and just wanted to send the faulty pump back for replacement as I can not be without the pc for weeks waiting for a new pump to arrive with rma. Not happy at the moment

ek support have to rma the pump through the distributor as per here latest email here.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us today ‍
it is still under warranty, but you will need to contact overclockers to do the exchange. Our rma policy is such that the third party that you purchase it from is responsible for the rma.
If you have any other questions or need any additional help please feel free to ask :)
Best regards, Chris

I see your point but is it realistic to expect the kit to be the same condition as it was 18 months ago, surely the actually mechanical parts should be what should be returned if they become faulty as they are as recieved and are the same,

regardless of the condition if the kit has that extended warranty then it will be honored, unless it been neglected or damaged in anyway then the warranty is void, same thing if the rad developed a leak if purchased separately then that part would be replaced.
because you have a kit ek suggest a full return via the retailer , overclockers may test it to make sure the pump hasn't been damaged in any way from debris inside the loop, if they find anything that isn't user made, likely the kit would go back to ek for further testing and if a problem is found that batch would be pulled from the market as a potential problem may have been found.

thats the issue with kits, if one part fails, pump, res, block or rad the whole lot has to go back to find out why it broke, its a real pain :(

your not wrong there....thanks for the offer of a pump btw but I all ready have a new one on the way, was just hoping to get the faulty one replaced at some point.

no worries :) your situation is quite annoying tbh, but thats one of the pit falls of a watercooling kit's i suppose, don't get me wrong for a introduction into custom lops they are pretty dam good for what they are. It's a pain when things go wrong that all
