faulty ram..

i was running blend with prime 95 for 10 hours with no crash, however, after 5 hours normal use its totally BSOD?..

i run memtest for 1 hour 30min and got 500,000 errors

could this be due to voltage being lower than stock?
what tools can increase ram voltage because there is no option in bios for it.

and how good is corsair RMA/service?

Which memory and which motherboard?

I wouldn't expect it to pass 10 hours of Blend if it wasn't set up right.

corsair XMS2 2 X 1GB 5400 + Abit NF-M2SV

after taking 1 stick out seems like it works, going to run memtest and hopefully to RMA only 1 stick so its just slower

but not useless

well it looks like both ram sticks are fine and 1 slot of the mobo may be faulty

either that or that using both slots makes it fail memtest...

but i have no way to change any voltages any advice?

Is the stock voltage for that memory not 1.8v anyway? And that's what the board will have it set to.

its 1.9, but i really don think that would be problem as i ran my 2.1 at 1.8 for a while and doesnt make a diff..

update..

2 dimm sockets, tried 1 stick in socket 1, socket 2 and the other stick by itself, and both together....

memtest passed every time..

i was getting lots of errors before, so basically i now think the mobo is faulty and not the ram? but its strange as it works sometimes but not others..

could this problem (BSOD, goes too fast, and edges are cut off so i cant see exactly what it says) be related to the processor? or power supply? or hard drive?

or should i try the ram out in my main system to check 100% that its fine?
