Faulty RAM?

Hi memory people. I think I might have some faulty RAM, but I'd like the advice of some more knowledgable folks please.

Recently (the last week or so) my PC has begun crashing, normally with a BSOD, fairly randomly. It could be during boot up, idle, in light use (e.g. Oultook, Chrome) or full load (e.g. Gaming). Every time the reported error in the BSOD and Windows event viewer is different.

To be clear, nothing has changed significantly from a software point of view (I've installed a couple of games is all), and nothing at all has changed from a hardware perspective in the last 8 months.

I tried toning down my OC, but that's made no difference, so I thought I'd test the RAM. Running memtest86+ it's thrown up a ton of errors, typically getting to over 2000 in just the first couple of minutes. After running the test a while I checked the BIOS settings and booted into Windows and realised that it reported I had 8GB RAM but only 4GB useable. I double checked in the BIOS and sure enough, only 4GB reported. I upped the DRAM oltage a little (from 1.50V to 1.55V and suddenly BIOS and Windows reports the full 8GB. RE-ran memtest and still getting a ton of errors, although the actual number varies each time.

The RAM config is 2x4GB corsair vengeance low profile PC3-12800 9-9-9-24, running in slots 1.& 3, and it's running at 802MHz.

So far I haven't gotten around to testing the sticks individually (it's late), but from the info I've given above, can anyone shed any possible light?

Iv just gone through this myself. But mine turned out to be my cpu memory controller lol
What is the rest of your system specs ?

If your gettig errors in memtest. Then that usually means one or both sticks are bummed.
Try 1 stick at a time eih memtest to aee if which one is out.

It also could be a faulty slot on your board. So you need to test the memory for the good one. Then try that in 1 slot at a time.

System is i5 750 @ 4GHz, Asus P7P55D Pro, Enermax Liberty 620W PSU.

I'll see if I can get time to test the RAM more thoroughly today, trying one stick at a time in each of the four slots.

I concede that it could also be an issue with my ageing PSU, although its been totally faultless since day one with rock solid voltage rails and it's never been particularly stressed.

I also thought about it possibly being the IMC.
