Well I'd heard about a few people with naff freeagents, but bought one anyway  Used it 3 times, then if errored on me before cooking itself.
Am now thinking of replacing it with a Mybook ESata. Is that a wise decision?
Just want a reliable, reasonably priced external drive with esata

I just bought a 500GB Freeagent Pro external eSATA drive. It does get hot when transferring files but has been pretty good so far. Performance is pretty good.

The only issue I have had is the software does not see the drive but I can see it and use in in XP. Not that I need the software as I just use it as a dump drive hence me not bothering to chase up a fix.

i was going for a My Book one but read some reviews and went for the Seagate version instead. 5 year warranty too.
