Is anyone worried about socket 1156 chips not making propper contact with the pins of the socket, it seems to be only in foxconn sockets and not Tyco AMP / LOTES sockets

This could be a time bomb for motherboards. They run perfectly fine now, but what about in 2-3 years when many motherboards are still under warranty and have been running with compromised power connections the whole time.

I wonder if we can RMA the boards in the near future if the manufacturers get enough proof/complaints or something. Frying a £250+ processor and board is NOT something I look forward to and the mobo manufacturers should certainly fix this.

Why be sorry, your not psychic are you?

This faulty socket issue has sort of put me off P55? The more people asking questions the better, non connecting pins are an issue. OC or not.

i have phoned up overclockers this moring and was told any motherboard which fails with the socket problem they will honor the warranty because they are aware af the problem.

they wont replace a board that is undamaged and the only board that doesnt use the foxconn socket is the evga highend board

not quite true, my gd80 appears to have a lotes socket, maybe this was picked up in production and sockets swapped to lotes somewhere along the line
