Godddddd I hope not, but I think my shiny new XR34 might be broken..
At random times, it goes through prolonged phases of randomly making a popping noise and a visual distortion on screen.. I tried to take some video of it but due to its random nature it wasn't easy, did manage to catch it once though (so awkward playing games while holding a camera). You can see it at about 10 seconds into the video, and again at 14ish - the 10 second one is a big distortion and the 14sec is much smaller, but annoying all the same.

WARNING: PLAYING LIFE IS STRANGE, POTENTIAL SPOILER WITHIN

Ideas on cause? Using the same Fury X's and DP cable as with my Samsung U28D590 which does not generate this issue, so the only thing left is monitor - no?
This happens in every game, and even when streaming movies/tv (first noticed it watching South Park last night :( ). As I said though, it's fairly random.. it's been fine for the last sort of 6 hours, then 30 minutes ago it started again popping probably twice a minute, sometimes more sometimes less.. It's annoying. Help D:

Ok, now it's not just popping - but the screens now occasionally going completely black.. I think this might be an RMA job =(

Could be do cable. I had awful trouble with my 4K screen (different monitor) with the supplied cable and another one I had showing similar issues to yours.

Bought a decent one and fingers crossed although the issue hasn't totally gone away, may happen once a month max. Unplugging and plugging the cable back in fixes it and makes it go away

Trolloll they're sending me it back. Here is the technicians Test Report:

"TESTED WITH CUSTOMERS CABLES AND OCUK CABLES, NO CORRUPTIONS ON THE SCREEN THROUGH HDMI OR DP"

****s sake - being sent "work" (by that I mean I have to do the job of fault finding myself) that I've paid £800 for the privilege of doing :/ Had a nice conversation with support about it, and luckily for me I'm going to be not-too-far-away from the store after this weekend so I can easily drop it in when I've torn all my hair out trying to figure it out :)

Have you sent the video linked above to them? That really does look pretty awful; not something I'd put up with on a £100 monitor nevermind something as expensive as this one. However, if the techs were unable to replicate the fault I guess it's possible it is something in your system.

If you can drive your 4K just fine then I can't see the PSU being an issue, but maybe it's something to do with your graphics cards? Have you tried disabling crossfire? Or running it with/without freesync, or even with a different graphics card? All sounds weird but you never know.

Really hope you get it sorted. I'm looking to buy a new monitor soon but honestly all the horror stories I've read lately are putting me off...what happened to the QC these companies used to have?

annoys me how tech support send products back as 'working fine' after testing them. Do they think people like sending stuff in just for a laugh because they're bored lol? There's obviously a fault with it and considering it cost £800 they should replace it without batting an eye lid. It's not like you're trying to con them into a refund or something because you don't like the monitor, you genuinely just want one that works how it should at the price you paid. Winds me up no end

^^^ This. If you send something in for RMA, it's downright rude to send the customer the same product back, whether you test it working or not. It should ALWAYS be an exchange, especially on an £800 monitor :/ It makes no logical sense to send the same product back, all it does is aggravate the customer and I'm sure there's no/very little financial impact for the company.

I linked the video to the RMA people in their webchat, which is what got the RMA issued in the first place. I'm assuming they don't pass on that information to the techs when testing. Not to mention it's an issue that only started after many hours of gaming, up until the point it starts distorting it works perfectly - so I'd imagine it'd be tough to replicate anyway.

Well, I've been playing for a few hours and no issue - though it took a few days to manifest the first time round - So I guess I've got a busy weekend ahead :)

This is unreal was really looking forward to getting one of these, Howling your posts convinced me to make the move, seems this is a problem monitor, gonna stick with my trusty 4k.
