Favourite Brand/Blend of Coffee?

Currently drinking a couple from Warehouse Coffee, Square Mile, Hasbean and Butterworth & Sons

All properly and freshly roasted. None older than 4 weeks.

Sainbury's So Organic Peruvian beans for me.

I think the real coffee fans would find them a bit middle of the road (it's not as interesting as something from Hasbean) but it's what I like.

Instant, all tastes a bit 'brown' to me. Has anyone noticed as you go down the price scale the taste difference between instance coffee and instant gravy narrows.

Lavazzo espresso for the Mocha pot
Several for the Nespresso which I cant remember
And go for Lidl Columbian blend for work by French press.

Anyone drinking instant should be shot on site.

Hasbean machacamarca was my fave but this years crop wasn't as nice. Love hasbean Philter and all hasbean bourbons. Ran out of beans so went to waitrose and paid 2.50 for a bag of their Colombian beans, they are stale and horrid. They even have the cheek to sell bags of branded stale beans for same price as hasbean fresh roasted.

Waiting impatiently for my Steve delivery!

Just got a bodum cafetiere for a few quid and bought some Taylor of Harrogate strong stuff but for some reason I can't get a decent cup out of it, what am I doing wrong

Use a heaped dessert spoon per cup. Heat bodum first with some hot water, use non-chlorinated water if you can, ie carbon filter jug such as the Britta ones. Pour water just off the boil onto the coffee, stir and let stand for 5mins before plunging, pre heat your cup too with a little hot water.

Works ok for me, if doesn't for you maybe the coffee you're using just isn't to your taste, try some others, have a look on the Hasbean website, they sell some really good and reasonably priced coffees.
