I've just been hit with a massive nostalgic moment... It inspired me to start a thread...

Once upon a time, back in the day, I remember playing Duke Nukem 3D on a measly (800x600) 15" monitor. It was almost too awesome to behold! Kicking a load of a**, chewing bubble gum, shootin' pigs and saving babes... And it left a massive imprint on my memory. That excellent, haunting, exhilarating, symphonic, beautiful and melodic theme tune will haunt me for the rest of my life!

What were your favourite oldschool PC/Console games?

Edit 1 - I've made a PC/Console split, since some people put some awesome 'home computer' games!

Edit 2 - I've included an 'Arcade' section, considering a lot of these games started on arcade machines, or you just enjoyed them better than the home versions!

It's looking like a darn good list of games now :D

Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (but you have to play The Secret of Monkey Island first).

I believe they've released modernised versions with full voice acting and modern graphics.

Far to many games over the years but the one I keep going back to is the original X-Com or UFO: Enemy Unknown as it was known in the UK at the time :D

Deutros, used to love that game. Wish there was something similar around now :(

For the Amiga? (Or Spectrum?)

Now that is oldschool!

Awesome game. I remember playing that, a little vaguely now though! Sort of gets jumbled in with another couple of RTS style games.. But I remember some specific monsters.

Please please please do not call the Amiga a console. It was a home computer, the CD32 was the console.

I still own an upgraded A1200 with a huge HDD full of whdload games :) Used at least 2-3 times a week for gaming.
