Just wondering what you all have to say about your favourite song of all time?

Mine would be P Diddy - I'll Be Missing You :)

...Your favourite song is a rehashed Sting track?

*n

PS: It was released by Puff Daddy. Not P Diddy. </pedant>

Havent got one favourite but one that became a favourite was
Just What I Needed By The Cars
Another would be Just A Day by Feeder
i could go on im not very good with favourites always changes :p

Same thing I say every time, Lynyrd Skynyrd - Freebird. Probably the greatest song of all time for me and one that I never tire of hearing, in fact most of Lynyrd Skynrd's back catalogue is pretty good but that one is my favourite.

I could probably easily list a top 10 or even a top 100 of great songs that I never tire of but if it comes down to 1 then that is it.

Freebird's a great song, I don't think it's as good live as it is studio, which is a shame cause I only have it live. :(

If you haven't already heard them I'd also suggest listening to Saturday Night Special(I think it was in the original The Longest Yard), Gimme Three Steps and They Call Me The Breeze. Sweet Home Alabama is also great but I'd be surprised if most people didn't already know it, I reckon it is better live(Lyve In Steeltown maybe).

I've got a few of their albums, but my music collection is huge, and I haven't had the time to listen to it properly until now.

Havent really got a favorite, depends on the mood, but one of my favs is defo

Otis Redding - Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay

just an amazing tune

If REALLY pushed it would have to be one of the following:

Thelonius Monk - Round Midnight

Van Morrison - Moondance

Leonard "God of misery" Cohen - Hallelujah (and Jeff Buckley's cover of it)

No, no, no. Lynyrd Skynyrd died in 1977. Whatever has been recorded since live or in a studio is not LS. If you wnat to judge Skynyrd live you must listen to One More From the Road. I prefer Tuesday's Gone to Freebird.

the closest thing to heaven - the kane gang

extended version with stevie wonder on harmonica - pure genius

Elliott Smith - Roman Candle
Elliott Smith - Angeles
Sigur Ros - Untitled 8
The Mars Volta - Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt
Cursive - Sierra
Cursive - Art Is Hard
Explosions In The Sky - Memorial
Explosions In The Sky - First Breath After Coma
Isis - From Sinking
Isis - Grinning Mouths
Opeth - The Drapery Falls

If I had to pick one from that list it would probably be Elliott Smith - Roman Candle or Explosions In The Sky - First Breath After Coma

Really tough to pick just one song, but if I had to choose it would probably be Ryan Adams - La Cienega Just Smiled

Notable mentions to
Weezer - El Scorcho
Elliott Smith - Bottle Up And Explode
Pixies - Cactus
Beck - Loser
