FEAR is NOT scary

Yeah Doom 3, played it for an hour then took it off and have never played it since, that and the fact it was far too dark, also AVP same again, to scary.

same here, doom3 is the only game i have ever flapped it from, played it up until the bit where you go into the room where there is all sorts of wired stuff going on and the red living walls etc, come out of that room and you hear that evil laugh. flapped it and just turned the game off and uninstalled it.

There's only three games that have ever scared me whilst playinh: Silent Hill, the first Resident Evil and System Shock 2. None of those were enough to stop me playing a game. You have to be a real pussy to stop playing a game because you're scared.

I agree with the OP that Fear wasn't in the slightest bit scary though. I thought it was absolute drivel. It was a run of the mill boring FPS with a few predictable moments that tried to increase the scare factor. It was dull.

The chase sequence in Call of Cthulhu where your locking the doors behind you scared the hell out of me. I thought I was gonna have a heart attack.

I completed FEAR about two weeks ago and I honestly can't see what the fuss is about. Creeping round concrete buildings, waiting for soldiers to appear, creeping round more buildings and waiting for more soldiers to appear. I didn't feel the game had very much atmosphere and graphically it was overrated. I can't see why people think it's so amazing.

I must admit that I tend to over exaggerate when talking about scary games because in all honesty I rarely crap my pants or fall off my chair. In fact the only game to truly frighten me was the first time I encountered the foot steps of a cyberdemon in Doom 2, but thats was when I was like 10 or something.
