Hi,picked up a copy of FEAR from a bargain bin and installed it on my D drive.
Game phones home and says there`s a shedload of updates.Let it download 1-1.08 patch and when the installation routine starts it tells me the game isn`t installed :confused: .I`ve tried manually downloading the patch with the same result.
Anybody got any ideas `cause I can`t be arsed uninstalling it and starting again.

I had the same problem at one point. There's various threads on the official FEAR forums about it and googling for the error message reveals other software with the same issue. I never managed to get any of the fixes to help me so I gave up and I tried again after I got a new HD and installed a fresh copy of windows and now the patches installed.

I think it has something to do with permissions of registry keys for the installer but, like I said, I had no luck with a fix for it and just put it down to the black art that is windows.
 
Guys how i check fps in FEAR,i run Test but i dont see fps,any command in user ini maybe? or cant find how and where i enable it?
