Feed back please :)
Budget is around £700'ish and I know this a cheap build. Open for any recommendation but will not go more that £750. I still want a AMD Phenom and want to keep the case. This will only be used for gaming, for games such as STALKER, Total War series, Fallout 3 and the soon to come Fallout New Vegas.

Just a side note; assume I did complete the build, how do I install the OS? I'm a complete newbie >.<

Thank you!

P.S. Will I get the heat compound past free or will I have to but that seperatly?

Lol... No I changed shed loads...

Phenom X4 Quad
Far Superior Gfx
Faster Ram
Better Mouse
Better HDD
Better DVD

That is a better spec however......

Buy the 955 phenom X4. It is basically a underclocked 965, if you go into the bios and up the multiplier by 1 you will have a 965 for less. The spinpoint F3 drive is a good choice (quick drive) but a 1TB one should be around £40ish makes sense to put money saved from the cpu to this, an extra £10 for double the capacity is a bargain.

Also the mobo is pointless with an nvidia card, as it's a true x-fire mobo .Either change the gfx card to ati so you can utilise x-fire at a later date or change the mobo (gigabyte mobos are proving popular btw) to a lower chipset. You can't use two nvidia cards in that mobo, however the 460 is a very good "budget" card on its own.

The new ati cards are due soon (october i believe) so it may pay to wait a month or so and see what happens to prices. Two 5770s equal (somecases beat) a 5870, if you could get 2 5830s cheaper for waiting that would be my choice. Ati also has a feature called eyefinity, nvidia have a rival tech but this requires sli to work.

The cpu will come with a heatsink with thermal paste already supplied. If you opt for an aftermarket cooler it will almost definately come with paste if not readily applied. To install the OS you need an OS disk (no brainer really ;p). You go into the bios and change the boot priority so the DVD is before the HDD. The machine will boot from the DVD and start the installation. Once installed change the priority back to the HDD to speed up the boot times.

Just a thought......good luck with the build

I think I'll wait it out for a month, like someone mentioned above about a new graphics card. I'm not going to overclock anything. I will keep this thread in mind though. Thanks for the feedback :)
