Feek's broken arm thread (now with plate, pins and screws x-ray, staples/wound and tongue surgery)

Hope the recovery goes smoothly mate, I’m 5months post op after breaking my tibia / ripping off my acl and it’s still not right.

One word of advice, when it comes to rehab time, if you need physio and the one you are given at the nhs is rubbish, go private asap.

Crikey! That doesn't look like fun. Hope you have a speedy and full recovery :)

Bevvy lifting arm huh?
Saturday night hum?
What impact is this injury going to have on "Feek's Friday Beer, gin, etc. thread"?
I'm sure someone can take on the mantle. It's a big responsibility but we're a noble lot.

Colleague of mine did practically the same thing a few years back but unfortunately by chance hit his head on a small stone that was just sat in the pavement where he fell, it killed him outright. :(

It’s unfortunate for you mate but fundamentally your ok and it could have been far worse.

I've never broken a bone before and have often wondered what the experience is like. I can comfortably say that I'm not a fan.

Smashed my ankle just in time for my 30th a few years back, was the first time I'd broken a bone. The pain was something else that's for sure, luckily I haven't had a repeat incident.

What do the kids call you?

Geezus how far did you fall for you to break your arm that badly??

Remember kids don’t drink and walk :p.

On a serious note though Feek, hope it heals well and you’re back up and running soon.

Since I had an injury I don't trust this "we can't do anything keep it in a sling" Best keep on top of them just to make sure it is healing correctly.

I broke a metacarpal and I was told "we can't do anything, keep you arm in a sling (to keep the hand raised)". 6 months later when I complained about pain, they x-rayed it and it was still broken. Months after that it eventually fused back together but not straight and still caused discomfort. Now there is a slight rotation in the finger when closing the hand and a little loss of dexterity in my dominate hand. If I was a concert pianist I bet they would have put a pin or similar in it and it would have been fine.

Ouch indeed. That does look pretty bad. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Ouch Feek, you should drink more milk.

Following on from this and obviously not giving any medical advice but it may be worth having a chat with your GP about whether a bone/dexa scan is appropriate.

That looks painful, I hope it heals quickly.

Can you use it at all or are you looking at a left-handed wipemare?
