I forgot to update this thread! I had a 2nd scan and a tumor marker blood test done 3 weeks ago.

Today was my appointment with the uroligist. It was very good news. The tumor marker blood test came back all within normal range, the 2nd ultrasound still showed up the same shadow, but on the day I had the 2nd scan the radioligist told me I had nothing to worry about and he really didn't think it was cancer or a tumor.

The uroligist said the same thing today pretty much, I do have an issue with the blood flow but it could have been caused by a knock or injury that's gone unoticed.

Bottom line he told me not to be worried about cancer etc. I've got to have another scan in 3 months just to keep an eye on things.

All in all, a massive weight off my mind!

And to Merlin5, well done for getting checked out mate. I don't think you have anything to worry about, from my knowledge mobile lumps are hardly ever cancer. Always best to follow up with an ultrasound though, just for piece of mind more than anything. You could be feeling a variocele.

I'm going to request for this thread to be closed now. :)

Cheers

Thanks mate, and so glad you have peace of mind now from your tests. It really does create horrible anxiety doesn't it, that you simply have to go and find out. The last time I was scared ****less was waiting for results from an HIV test 2 or 3 years back. Never had one before and it was recommended to me by the doctor even though I'd gone about something else. That turned out fine. But the waiting, omg, not nice.

Yeah the waiting certainly is the worse part, but I knew that not getting a phone call from them about the blood tests was a pretty good sign! Let me know how you get on with the ultrasound scan. :)

one of the common types of testicular tumour is called a terratoma, one if its strange characteristics is that is grows and wraps its self around ascending venae cavae..its doesnt invade but wraps its self, a urologist and vascular surgeon have to carefully unwrapp it with out tearing the large vessels. Also another strange characteristic of terratoma's are they can grow bone, nails, bone and whole sets of teeth, ive been involved in the surgery many times.

keep an eye on your balls fella's! not worth the surgery and chemo/radio therapies.....
