Heh I remember NetWare 3.11 and the module stuff, windows 3.1 when you had to do the winsock stuff to get on-line. Netscape navigator gold. Pegasus mail, the turbo button on the PC, small hard drives.
 
ahh windows 95, funny i remember it being the first pc we ever had, played missile command on it as a nipper, 'twas the only computer in the street at the time.

fast forward and i own a desktop, a laptop, a tablet, and a phone that might as well be a pc as well as a drawer full of old smartphones that still work every one of them gutsier than that first pc.

i like to measure by memory, my most recent phone [z5 premium] has been the first time i haven't decided to upgrade my memory card along with the phone as 64gb is enough for my needs [as well as the onboard storage].

I think the big 5.25" disks held 1.2 megabytes for double sided and 600 kilobytes for single sided. At least I think that's what it was for BBC Micro disks.

The more conventional 3.5" disks were 1.44 mb / 1.38 mb formatted.
 
'Come as you are' by Nirvana was on the radio this morning and when the DJ mentioned their album 'Nevermind' was 25 years old I almost had a mental breakdown.

Tell me about it.

Imagine giving them 3.1 lol. or Windows MistakeEdition. They wouldn't last 5 minutes with that piece of rubbish with all it's instabilities and problems.
