Hi guys,

So a couple of months ago, I read an article in the Wall Street Journal, regarding Fennel Pollen, and how the was the new 'Magic' ingredient in the kitchen.

I wasn't too fussed about hunting some out, however I was in a spice shop yesterday, and managed to find some, at an extortionate price, however I thought I would pick it up and give it a go.

I haven't got around to using it yet, but thought I would see if anyone else has?

Sounds like it'd be nice sprinkled on some ice cream, by the descriptions of it on the website.

Will be pretty similar to star anise I reckon. Although it may have a stronger taste. I would use it sparingly.

Make a good rub for ribs with it.

Glaucus,

Just wondering,

Could you make your own salami, chorizo and pepperoni if you wanted to? I could eat salami every single day without fail. In crusty bread with pesto and red onion.

You can, never tried . In fact these will be my first proper sausages. Just hope I'm not to hungover in the morning.

Chorizo is something I rally want to try making.

I'm sure it is, we shall see. Went for hog skins which are meant to be easier. Skilled hands, sheep skins are meant to be better but very hard to work with,
