Exactly how do you guys know about Fermi's performance? Yes, I know the core is big, expensive and power sucking, but as of yet we have no information about it's actual performance. I'm holding judgement till we have benchmarks on final spec cards. I think many people can overlook a GTX 480's power draw and price if it destroys a 5870.
Ok my prediction.
the gtx470 about £320 probably more with initial price gouging, stock on Monday 29th march, 3 suppliers with stock that will sell out within hours maybe 50 cards each. performance very close to the 5870 in most things, with it being swings and roundabouts to who wins what. stock levels to trickle in and i mean trickle for about 6-8 weeks and then start to pick up.
the gtx480 about £450 probably a lot more with initial price gouging, stock also on Monday 29th of march maybe 10 cards if we are lucky, sell out in minutes with no further stock for 6-8 weeks and then to trickle in. performance up to 50% faster than the 5870 in most things and maybe just snipping at the heals of the 5970 in places.

It'll be £600+ for the 480, after a few months of gouging we may see the real price... unless ATI open another can of whoopass like when the 280 went from £650 to £230 in the space of a few days.
