This is looking to be pretty good.

Throughout Ferrari Challenge there’s a clear sense this game isn’t out to woo the casual racing fan. Instead, it’s a hardcore sim, a love letter to both Yu Suzuki’s classic arcade racer and everything that’s rolled through the gates of the Scuderia’s factory. It often frustrates and is at times rough around the edges, but shining through these flaws is a game with heart and passion. System 3 has managed to produce a thoroughbred racing experience that manages to retain so much of the charisma of its source material - and for those so inclined its one of the best racers available on the PlayStation 3

Sounds good. I really enjoyed GT5P, but not being the full game, it does lack a fair bit. But i still enjoy playing it every so often. Good to hear that another racing game is on its way. Seen a few videos aswell of this. Looks very good.

This is geared more towards a proper sim? Awesome, possibly the PS3s current answer to forza2, we can only hope.

Looks great, lets hope they use most of the original physics code with it. I'd rate it over gt5 if they did.

Definitely a very stealth potential hit for sony, they aint so stupid

Been tracking this game for a while due to the delays and lack of real info. Definitely planning on getting it on release

Don't think its out in America yet - last thing I heard was sound Aug - its been published over there by Activision.

Does indeed look very good - sounds like it has a nice variety of cars, and a good selection of tracks (the track count was a massive disappointment in GT5P for me)

Been tracking this one for a while too. Although i was under the assumption that it would be more of a arcadey racer according to the developers? (Theres a quote out there stating some of their favourite racing games - NFS: Underground

) But if the review says its much more sim based then great!

There's quite a few people playing it in the AVforums. General view is that the graphics are OK at best but the handling is excellent.

Also AI isn't great but online works well.

I plan to pick it up over the weekend

Yeah, not expecting the graphics to be up to GT5 levels, but if the gameplay reports are positive then that's good

Will either pick it up next week or clear my current backlog of games first

think i'll give it a miss general feeling on AV is

The good-

Car models
Good driving model and the way the cars handle.

The Bad-

AI.
GFX.
Frame rate.
Low rez looking.
bad colour pallet.
doing a career mode is pointless because of all the faults, you would just turn it off after a few races unlocked and never play again.
last gen feel.
slow loading.
bare bones online
crash damage is pointless, so why even waste resources putting it in, it's just like GT5 with scratches.
No real steering wheel adjustment, even GRID had this.
most views are not set right ie, too low too far back.
clunky menus slow to navigate.

not impressed really
gt5 shows that graphics can look like
this looks about ps2 level
maybe the driving can make up for it feels a lot better than grid anyway and more alive than gt5

Thx for the heads up bad frame rate in a racer is totaly unexseptable for me thats with out all the other problems.

mm no bad frame rate i can live with dodgy gfx i will have to look into this more.

What about AI ?

ps as you can see im desparate for a half decent racser on ps3 for get gt prologue i dislike it much.
