Hope you all enjoyed V this weekend. Know I did

I was at Chelmsford and here are my thoughts. Share yours too.

Fatboy Slim(Did some remixes of Gorillaz and Arctic Monkeys along with mixing his own songs together.) All in all an awesome show. 2nd favourite of the weekend.

Faithless by far the best show. Absolutely superb. Amazing crowd interaction. Played classics.. insomnia, god is a dj, we come one, mass destruction. Everyone left with huge smiles on their faces. Would have paid the weekend ticket value just for that show. If only they were headlining though. Would have been much better in the dark although it did get darker towards the end. No way was morrisey better than them.. they really should have had more time. That is my only complaint. Was funny though, once they finished pretty much *everyone* left the V stage. Apparently not many people saw Morrisey :p

Sugababes. Was really impressed by them. Had a live band instead of a backing track and got the crowd going a lot and singing along. Didn't hear one wrong note and they weren't miming so was happy. Really fun to watch.

Starsailor. Only saw a couple of songs before we left for Faithless. Was really good show and they seemed to be enjoying themselves a lot. Was a shame to have to leave them, but worth it.

Razorlight. Saw them at Reading last year and they were pretty good. I'd say this year they weren't quite as good. Didn't really speak to the crowd much or anything. Played well. Was annoying how they kept leaving the stage. Highlight: watching some girl run past security onto the stage then get to the mic, get one syllable out and then be completely flattened by a guard  Hilarious :D

Bloc party. Again a really fun show to watch and they played a couple of new songs. Luno wasn't played which was a shame, however banquet and helicopter to name a couple were and they were very fun to watch.

We are scientists. Only went to see them as a friend likes them and she really wanted to see them. Wasn't that impressed to be honest.

Hayseed Dixie. Where'd the go? Waited for 20mins at the Strongbow cider house for them to come on. No mention of them. Was looking forward to that as they were the only people I wanted to see in the morning on sunday.

Biffy Clyro. Despite the technical problems at the start, they prevailed with a very fun set to listen to and dance to. Glitter and Trauma was quality.

Dandy Warhols. Boring.

Beck. Hilarious set. They had a puppet show with models of them imitating them, which started before they came on stage so it looked like they were playing the music on the screens. Had a tea party on stage. A comedy V festival video made by the puppets with voiceovers by the band. All in all a very enjoyable thing to watch which made everyone laugh. Glad I was dragged to see them by the friend who dragged me to W.A.S :)

Ordinary Boys. Only saw the first few songs as we had to go to beck, but it was very tight and surprisingly good to listen to. Was expecting something different but what I heard was very good.

That'll do for now. I'm off to sleep.

Did you all enjoy everything?

I was only there on the Saturday but saw Divine Comedy (the girlfriend loves them), which meant missing Biffy Clyro :(

Made a point of seeing Captain after hearing some of their stuff on the radio. Recorded they sound very average but live they were excellent.

The Beck puppets were very funny, Keane were....Keane I suppose, the bit of the Ordinary Boys I heard were good. Preston screaming 'Dance m**********, dance' during Boys Will Be Boys somehow went missing when I saw it on E4 the next day. :D

Funniest moment was when Girls Aloud were on and security were trying to shut the enclosure. People were knocking the barriers over and making a run for it. E4 showed half a track the next day and if I'm being kind I think they had sound problems. ;)

Radiohead put on quite a good show too.

i was there all weekend, agree on the faithless front, shoulve been headlining!

anyone got any idea what fatboy slims first tune was?! loved it but im clueless.

great weekend.

Can't remember sorry.

The intro thing was similar to Prelude by pendulum. The same voiceover.

I need to find bootlegs somewhere of the gorillaz mixes and I reckon the arctic monkeys one was better than the original.

Get the Radio 1 essentials mix from a couple of weeks ago that was recorded at Global Gathering. I'm pretty sure he threw in an artic monkey's remix too but I was so bloody wasted at Global that I can't remember.

Not only was it the best live set I've ever heard Fatboy Slim do, but also has the gorillaz mix you're probably talking about and allot of other tunes he probably played at V too.

He had a mix of that "he's a scumbag don't you know" song. (not good with arctic monkeys at all, although I liked this remix of them).

and feel good inc.

Where did you get this bootleg?

fatboy was brilliant!

In fact every band i saw i liked, but sadly cant remember most of them as we all had camel packs filled with 2l of Voka and mixer, kind of checked out really!

Hayseed Dixie were actually playing about 2 hours after they were printed to... really annoying but we came back to see them after and they were fantastic.

Favourite for me was probably Groove Armada, totally unexpected but absolutely fantastic. Biffy Clyro were good, after they eventually got started - 3rd attempt! The guy's amp kept tripping the whole set by the looks of it.

Others I saw were Beautiful South (under duress from a girl I was with), bit of Faithless, Beck, Kula Shaker... and some others... brain still a bit fried.

Definitely a good weekend though... got Get Loaded in the Park next week... woo. Bring on Vitalic. :D

In addition to those already mentioned above rufus wainwright and regina spektor were great too.

Find of the festival for me though was The crimea, never hear them before, but loved their song 'baby boom' as soon as I heard it - and got their album today.

Also saw morning runner thanks to my friends raving, but found them rather uninspiring.

Hard fi were pretty poor too, with an awful cover of seven nation army. Shame, I really like their album, but live it did nothing for me.

Razorlight and radiohead were both really great, helped by an extremely enthusiastic crowd.

Worst band I saw all weekend. I really hope Jack White hears about that cover version and gives him a slap for his incompetance. A lot of Hard-Fi fans wanted to hit me because I loudly announced my thoughts of what a complete tool the singer was to my friends.
