Hi,

Few questions before I order parts.

1. I'm going for Conroe E6600 + Abit AW9-D + Zalman CNPS9500AT.

The CNPS9500 Manual says to spread thermal paste across the top of the chip. Is this correct or will a blob do and let the heat spread it natrually?

2. I'm going for a 19" LCD Widescreen + 3D Connect X1900XT 512mb card. 3D Connect say the card comes with a DVI-I Connector.

However the 19" Samsung and Viewsonic screens state they have a DVI-D input. So does the DVI-I cable match the DVI-D socket??

3. The Connect 3d x1900 XT 512mb card website states:
"16:9 aspect ratio monitors are supported on 1920x1080 and 848x480 on Windows® XP"

http://www.connect3d.com/products/pcie_x1900xt.htm

Most 16:9 LCD Monitors optimal resolutions are well below 1920x1090. Usually around 1280 x 1024.

How does this work? I get the impression the card will NOT support 16:9 ratio at 1280x1024. But only at 1920x1090. Which is very demanding on performance.

4. For Crossfire, do I NEED the master card for 1900xt? Or can I use x2 3d connect x1900xt 512mbs? On the Abit AW9D manual it shows 2 ATI cards, one with a DMS59 Connector and 1 without. So thats confusing.

5. Is there any cables or special connectors that arent included in these components which I would need to buy extra for them to work?

6. I'm also buying Corsair XMS2 6400 TwinX C5 2x1GB RAM. On the Abit AW9-D Motherboard for dual channel setup do I install them in Dimm1+Dimm2, or Dimm1+Dimm3. On the old MSI Neo2Plat the manual would state Dimm1+Dimm3 but in actual fact you would have to put them in 1+2 for it to go dual channel.

I appreciate any help.

Thanks

Makes no real difference.

Can't remember the difference but it will work fine.

The card will output pretty much any resolution you want, so set it to your monitors native resolution.

You need a master card.

You'll get all the cables you need with the motherboard/GPU/monitor.

Can't say specifically for that board, but the norm is to use to sockets the same colour.
