My mate wants to get a few new PC components as he wants to run CoD4 at 250 FPS and also wants to run games like BioShock 2 on medium to max graphics, I honestly don't know what to suggest currently hes got an E2200 2.2GHz, 2GB DDR2 ram (dunno what MHz) and an ATI Radeon 5450, I think their are only a few things that he thinks he needs to replace these are:

Mobo
CPU
RAM

I did also suggest maybe getting the 5770 but he just recently bought the 5450 so doesn't really want to upgrade it unless totally neccisary.

His budget for these 3 parts are £200 give or take a bit. So any suggestions would be greatful ;)

Don't really know how to explain it but someone explained it in a previous post I made so I'll get the quote, sec

"i know what u mean OP but as none of these people have played any cod game competitivly they WONT understand xD

the way the cod engine works is 125 / 250 fps constant makes the gane run optimally, its to do with the engine. if you can get 250 fps constant cap it at that. if not they cap at 125.

its like any competitive game, for example css. i cap my fps to 100 as it very rarely drops below. the reasons being if i drop from 240 fps to 90. its a noticable big drop. whereas if i drop from 100 to 90 that aint exactly a big drop so will be less noticable.

COD4 is the same. 125 / 250
COD2 = 125 / 250
"

if he's a gamer why did he not save his pennies and get something better than the 5450? seems like a bit of a pointless purchase....

an athlon x3 cpu, am3 mobo and 4gb or ddr3 ram can be had for about £200

that or you could just stick a q8300 lga775 quad in there if the mobo supports it and get him to sell the 5450 and pick up a 5750/5770 instead
