I currently have 2 x IDE drives one with data on it and one with my operating system and a few programs and stuff on it.

I am looking to get another Harddrive so I can mess about and install the Windows Vista Beta.

My questions are:

1. If I buy a SATA 2 160Gb drive (Got my eyes on one) will I be able to run IDE & SATA drives at the same time?

2. Would I be able to do a complete copy of my current IDE operating system drive onto the new SATA drive to save reinstalling everything?

3. When I get round to getting a beta version of Vista can I have all 3 harddrives connected (1 with XP, 1 with Vista & a data drive) and easily switch between running XP or Vista?

Cheers in advance

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. XP Supports dual boot, and i'm guessing Vista does do, wouldnt make sense for the newer OS to not support it.

If your going to copy your OS across drives, use something like Norton Ghost. Ghost will clone your old drive onto your new drive, easy peasy.
