Few questions, windows logon and browser related

Hello!

1: Is there a way to have multiple user accounts on xp, but that it auto logs in on the main account, and so the otehr accounts are only accessible with ''switch user'' ?'It's for my dad's pc but he can;t be betrothed logging in each time or having to click extra before his pc boots. I want to have my own account/desktop on it though.

2: Is there a browser that remembers all tabs/pages when closed and reopens them next time it's started, and that INCLUDES text fields data, eg. when hitting reply on a forum, then typing a message, then closing the browser and so it's exactly there ready to post the message the next session ? I know of sleep mode and standby it's to prevent accidental shutdowns.

3: A browser that can auto convert full sessions into tabs, eg. you have 15 iexplorer or firefox windows open, press a button, and make it all into 1 window with 15 tabs instead.


Thanks in advance, I'd like an answer to question 2 most, question 1 preferably too, and my third question is unimportant. I'd appreciate any help for the first 2.
 
Opera will do the first part of question 2. It'll save a session for you but the storing of the text in a forum is beyond its capability I'm afraid. You'd probably need some advanced Firefox extension for that, if there is one.

And as for question 3 I doubt any browser can do that. Opera/Firefox/IE etc all work in tabs so the developers probably don't expect people to have many instances open and to use tabs instead. You could probably use AutoHotkey to do that if you were prepared to try it. :)

Never heard of any browser or plugin that will do that for you.
Perhaps you can use Opera and there is a Notes feature so you could then just copy and paste your data in to that and then paste it back in to your form the next time you open your browser?

Sorry for reviving the thread but I wanted to try this today (yes I really do things late after I want to do things :p) but :
''DefaultUserName'' is not there in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon, also the article doesn't say it applies for Vista, where do I enable auto logon for Vista ?
Although it says this about defaultpassword:
If there is no DefaultPassword value, create the value. To do this, follow these steps:
In Registry Editor, click Edit, click New, and then click String Value.
Type DefaultPassword as the value name, and then press ENTER.
Double-click the newly created key, and then type your password in the Value Data box.

There is nothing about defaultusername when it's not thre.

Ok so it seems to work to log me in, but it ****s up or so to say my windows.

My sidebar is gone, all the sudden I have a windows classic theme, all my quicklaunch things in the start menu are gone, my second taskbar ( the ultramon one) is way too big and is and not aligned up correctly, iexplorer is behaving like it's started the first time ever ( giving notifications about pivacy). MSN didn't auto log me in even tho it's enabled. My computer is gone from the desktop.

I am sure it logged ME on though, I only have 1 user account and that's the administrator account on my pc, when I go to my documents it also shows mine properly...

Any ideas what the hell is going on ?
 
ARGH I have reverted all my changes in the reg and it still hasn't fixed itself, help !
Also when I rmb on computer and click show on desktop it doesn't show up on desktop, wtf is this :( ?
 
Managed to get aero & sidebar back, but still can't get computer back on the dtop in the proper way, my unused icons in the bottom left don't hide even though the setting is ticked,, my start menu settings are largely ignored, also my ''run'' thing is gone from my start menu and I have no idea how to get it back, and my ''recently opened documents'' is back when I don't want it there and I have no idea how to nuke it ( its properly diabled and ''run'' is enabled to show in my start menu but it ignores my settings :mad:, my default application file associations are all gone, it forgot vlc is my default vid player and utorrent my default torrent program. and I have this odd bugger in the center of my screen and I can't get it off or click on it or whatever:

What has happened to my pc :S ? Why doesn't it follow orders any more, it ignores my settings largely ?


Also where on earth is application data ?
It used to be in C:\Users\Administrator.Snowdogs-PC
Now it's elsewhere, I know it's still somewhere ( savegames are still there from games who used to save it there) , but now it's not there ( and yes I can see hidden folders and have the box '' hide protected system files and folders'' NOT ticked.)

Ok so I got really annoyed by this all and wanted to play some music to relax, so I try starting WMP, and it behaves as it's just been installed, I do quick settings as I cba with it all and want music running asap, then I get greeted by this :

What the bloody hell has happened to my pc ?


Also config screen keeps defaulting to the **** vista default, rather than the classic config screen.

It's still there. but windows just refuses to show me hidden files and folders and reverts back to default settings as soon as I've changed them. It looks like windows is is some kind of protected or safe mode or some other absolute pain in the *** feature.



Anyone have any idea how to get the control back over my pc?
 
Also, when I remove things now, it doesn't move them any more to the recycle bin and immediately removes em, and it doesn't start various apps like steam on bootup any more.
