As above really, the debug led on the mo bo shows FF..pc works ok but not happy leaving it at that. Shiped with the lastest bios any ideas pls?
details in sig and everything is 100% stock

I dont know about gigabyte boards, but on an evga 680i s775 board i had, FF on the led display meant that the system had booted properly, there may be a list of led boot codes in your boards manual and id bet that ff will say that the system has booted fine.

It always on FF :D

It means that the PC works fine, have you looked the manual at all about the debug led :)

Ah nice, yes m8 1st thing i did it says FF which is the code then next to some gibberish that makes no sence instead of saying all fine lol
thanks boys just keeping you busy :)

FF means it's all fine as previously mentioned.. don't worry.. I thought it was a 'Fatal Error' when I first got my board :|

Hi, have you flashed your mobos BIOS to the latest one??

F7 is the newest BIOS on Gigabye website for this mobo, when I purchased my EX58 UD5 it came with F4 BIOS, and Gigabyte recommended using F5 and above for D0 stepping i7's...

I don't know whether flashing the BIOS to F7 would make software show the correct stepping or not though, but it is worth a try nonetheless...

I remember on my evga 680ia1, c1 was one to watch for, or the dreaded -:- double dash which signified a dead board, thankfully when mine died i had the sense to buy a good p45 board, couldnt get over 3.0ghz with my q6600 on the 680i, took that cpu to 3.8ghz on the p5q deluxe with ease.
