it was released on the computer hes not going to be using an emulator... probably
 
There was a rumour a while ago about a remake for the PS3, at least I'm sure I read something along these lines. I'm guessing that it was just a rumour as there's been nothing official said.
 
A remake would only ever be a good thing if all they did was improve the graphics and change NOTHING about how the game played.

I doubt they'd be able to do that.
 
Indeed, it's a classic for a reason. Unfortunately it would probably be slated for out of date gameplay if it was just a graphics overhaul and because of this, if square ever do remake it, i bet they will change the gameplay quite significantly.

Personally i'm hoping for a graphics overhaul with the same gameplay and possibly some new storyline arcs. I wanted to know more about Vincent and Aeris, there were tidbits hidden throughout the original, i would just hope for some extra puzzle pieces.

If they did do the above, with the number of solid FFVII fans already around i bet it would still sell well.

Indeed.

I would love to have FFVII with FFXIII level of graphics, and Advent Children class cutscenes, with true CD quality music.

I would litterally buy a PS3 for that alone.


But I fear they would do something silly with the game like remove ATB or something equally retarded...

Actually they have said something official about it. They have said there are currently no plans at all to remake FF7. That video is just a tech demo.

They also said it wasnt "the end" ie thier final word. There just aren't/wasn't any plans at the time they said that.

I'm gonna remain positive about the matter.
