im using k lite codec pack and ffd show, i have seen settings about resize and such on other forums, could anyone here post what they use? or a simple guide on how to make your picture slightly better with the right settings.

i dont want to use de noise or sharpening or anything like that, just simply the best method of resizing, best outputs to use and what do you change in the codec box

i just want to make the picture a little bit better rather than trying to make a grubby picture look amazing, most files i use are in 720p.

i mainly watch tv shows, movies, etc which are usually in a compressed file format rather than on a dvd.
 
thanks, but i have been told the spline method is better than lanczos when dealing with compressed files, and if you set the number of taps greater than 2 when using lanczos it causes too much "ringing", so i would prefer if someone could tell what settings they use and why? rather than just copy someone else's setting's without knowing why they do what they do.
