Kamui Kobayashi is said to be likely to take over from Nakajima as the third driver in the #1 Toyota at Le Mans. Not sure what to make of it. He has raced in Le Mans, but that was GTE stuff.
They're involved in a few different motorsports, under Lexus in Super GT and they're soon to be in the WRC. Would be a shame - and stupid in my view - to just leave WEC as it starts to become interesting. But it also wouldn't be surprising if they do leave.
A wet sunday according to the weather reports, as well as a damp track in FP1. This year might just be extra special.
The flashing tail lights are off-putting but they are doing the job. The cars are far easier to spot, so driver visibility in bad conditions should hopefully stop another incident like Nakajima's.
I don't find it that bad - and it could easily have been worse - but it might be because I actually like the look of the GT.
The might do a better livery next year and wouldn't be surprised if they copy the Porsche idea for Le Mans, they could have the cars looking like those fifty years ago for the 24 hours.
I can't wait for it. I hope Nissan get their mental creation working, Toyota manage their overhaul and both Audi and Porsche do what they do best. Would be great having a race with 10 or more cars battling for the outright win at Le Mans.
But at least I can now go back to hating them for killing the Delta Wing, conning us all with the "Electric" ZEOD and creating a revolutionary new way of burning money in LMP1.
