I had a quick look at these, and they dont look bad.

Would they be good for the 10mile journey to college and back?

Unless your driving involves 1 mile a day, inside a busy city, you can get a better car than a CInqeuifdfdfds by buying... anything else with wheels.

Yes they are a perfect car for that job, bought mine for the same purpose. I do a 14-mile daily commute on an A-road to my uni placement job. In 2 years it has never let me down. Very chuckable, always consider it the true 90's mini, very fun to drive.
They are very good value for money also probably being at their lowest price they have ever been. You can pick up a mint condition one on ebay for 750 quid and the running costs are laughable.
Group 3 insurance is a bonus as a student as well. My first year of driving at 19 on my own tpft policy cost 800, this year it's 600, get my point?
Look on men and motors used car roadshow at the end of the month. They will be doing a special on the best student car to own and guess who's car is being featured ;) .

They should have featured my car really after using it for 2 years at Uni I cant think of a better student car :p

My car is up against a choice of 2 others in a 3 car lineup. They picked 2 other cars which where quite stupid for a student to own, an old beetle and a smartcar lol.

a lot more room in the back of a Mondeo than the Cinquecento.

We all know you you uni people get upto. ;)

Meh I tried :o , don't get anything else fiat then. For equivilant engine size 1.1 and 1.2 puntos/bravas & bravos are duller than a dull thing. Just live a little danger in your life :p. If you want boot space just go all out and get some old volvo 240, plenty of space for lay down hanky panky ;) .

Insurance group 8 meh not too bad, enjoy all that drinking money down the pan though ;). If I was aiming for a 1.8 litre car I would go for something else.

Dont know why so many people diss them... they really arent bad cars as a little run around, I drive one almost daily out and about, its not that bad a car...

In 5 years time, once you've moved on from your first car and owned and driven many others, you'll know why people diss them.

They are horrible trolleys with few redeedming features. A 3 mile passenger ride was more than I needed.
